  2.  Use the left and right cursor keys to

  26.  This option allows you to ADD files into
  27.  the compressed by displaying a list of
  28.  files in a window.  After the window is
  29.  displayed you tag the files to ADD by
  30.  pressing the space bar.  After all files
  31.  have been tagged press the ENTER key to
  32.  process the tagged files.
  33.  
  34. *altc  !!add/update comments!!
  35.  This option will allow you to add or
  36.  update the compressed file comments.
  37.  
  38. *altd  !!delete all extracted!!
  39.  This option will delete all files that
  40.  are contained in the compressed file
  41.  from the current DISK:\DIRECTORY,or the
  42.  one specified via the ALT-P command.
  43.  
  44. *alte  !!extract list!!
  45.  This option allow you to specify which
  46.  files to extract from the compressed
  47.  file. You may specify more the one
  48.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  49.  cards are allowed.
  50.  
  51. *altf    !!freshen-from-list!!
  52.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  53.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  54.  of files in a window.  After the window
  55.  is displayed you tag the files to
  56.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.
  57.  After all files have been tagged press
  58.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  59.  files.
  60.  
  61. *altm   !!move-from-list!!
  62.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  63.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  64.  of files in a window.  After the window
  65.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  66.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  67.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  68.  key to process the tagged files.
  69.  
  70. *altn  !!extract newer!!
  71.  This option will extract ALL NEWER files
  72.  from the compressed file into the current
  73.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  74.  the ALT-P command.
  75.  
  76. *altp  !!!get_extract_path!!!
  77.  This options allows you to specify a
  78.  disk and directory of where any
  79.  extracted files will be placed.  Specify
  80.  the extract path as follows:
  81.  DISK:\DIRECTORY Pressing any key other
  82.  than the ENTER key will clear the
  83.  extract path. To display a directory
  84.  window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  85.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the
  86.  enter key.
  87.  
  88. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  89.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  90.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  91.  the window pops up enter the first
  92.  character of the file you wish to find.
  93.  The display will be repositioned to the
  94.  first file in the list that starts with
  95.  that letter. (NOTE since files are
  96.  stored in random order sort the list
  97.  first)
  98.  
  99. *altv  !!view archive comments!!
  100.  This option will display the master
  101.  comment record and the file comment
  102.  records for the selected compressed
  103.  file.
  104.  
  105. *altx  !!extract all!!
  106.  This option will extract ALL files from
  107.  the compressed file into the current
  108.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  109.  the ALT-P command.
  110.  
  111. *altz  !!virus check!!
  112.  This option will check ALL .COM ,.EXE, .OVL
  113.  files to see if they have been infected with
  114.  a virus.  You must have the virus checking
  115.  program from McAfee Assoc. call SCAN.EXE
  116.  version 39 or greater, and have used the
  117.  configuration program to tell SHEZ where
  118.  to find SCAN.EXE
  119.  
  120. *c  !!create-new!!
  121.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  122.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  123.  to enter the
  124.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  125.  compressed file to create, whether you
  126.  want to add or move files into the new
  127.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  128.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  129.  new compressed file.
  130.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  131.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  132.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH and
  133.  PAK files!!!!!
  134.  
  135.  You will also be asked if you want to
  136.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  137.  the entered file spec as is.
  138.  
  139.  If the compression program you choose
  140.  supports saving path information you will
  141.  also be asked if you want to save
  142.  directory information, and if you want to
  143.  recurse the directory tree.
  144.  
  145.  
  146. *ctld  !!delete tagged!!
  147.  This option will delete all tagged files
  148.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  149.  asked to verify the delete before the
  150.  files are actually deleted from the
  151.  compressed file.

  153. *ctle  !!extract tagged!!
  154.  This option will extract all tagged
  155.  files from the compressed file.
  156.  
  157. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  158.  This option will activate the alternate
  159.  file viewer if one has been set via the
  160.  SHEZEV environment variable.  PLEASE SEE
  161.  THE USER MANUAL FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON
  162.  SETTING UP AN ALTERNATE VIEWER.

  164. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  165.  This option will set the compressed
  166.  file's time and date to the time and
  167.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  168.  the compressed file.
  169.  
  170. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  171.  This option will untag all currently
  172.  tagged files.
  173.  
  174. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  175.  This option will tag all files in the
  176.  currently displayed window.
  177.  
  178. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  179.  This option will convert a self
  180.  extracting file back to its native
  181.  compressed file format. The self
  182.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  183.  The normal compressed file will be
  184.  built on the same drive and directory
  185.  where self extracting file is found.

  187. *d  !!delete one file!!
  188.  This option will delete the currently
  189.  highlighted file from the compressed
  190.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  191.  delete before the delete is actually
  192.  done.

  194. *e  !!extract one file!!
  195.  This option will extract the currently
  196.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  197.  drive and directory, or the
  198.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  199.  the ALT-P command.

  202.  Using this option you can specify the
  203.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  204.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  205.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  206.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  207.  extensions.

  210.  This option will temporarily exit to
  211.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  212.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  213.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  214.  the return key.

  217.  This option prompts for a new
  218.  DRIVE:\PATH to change to.  You may also
  219.  specify a filename and file extension if
  220.  you wish. Wild card in the name and
  221.  extension are allowed.

  223.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY
  224.  THE ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE

  232.  This option will allow you to edit a
  233.  file in the compressed file.  This
  234.  option will only work if you specified
  235.  an editor to use when you configured
  236.  compressedPER.

  239.  Using this option you can specify how
  240.  you want the compressed files sorted on
  241.  the screen. They can be sorted by Name,
  242.  Extension, or Date.

  245.  These options allow you to set the
  246.  compression factor that will be used by
  247.  the ZIP program.  You may choose a
  248.  factor for ASCII files and one for
  249.  BINARY files.  If you are using version
  250.  .92 or greater of PKZIP you may choose
  251.  one of the Maximize options listed
  252.  instead of choosing the ASCII or BINARY
  253.  compression factor options.

  451.  extract a file from the compressed file.

  454.  This option allows you to specify if you
  455.  want to save and/or use path information
  456.  when working with compressed files.
  457.  
  458. *q  !!immediate exit!!
  459.  This option will immediately exit
  460.  SHEZ.
  461.  
  462. *r  !!run a file!!
  463.  This option will extract and run the
  464.  highlighted EXE or COM file.  You will be
  465.  prompted to enter the optional command line
  466.  parameters that the program may need.  When
  467.  the program ends the extracted file will be
  468.  deleted.
  469.  
  470. *s  !!add/update file comments!!
  471.  This option allows you to add and or
  472.  update the comment records associated
  473.  with the currently highlighted file.
  474.  
  475. *sft-s  !!add/update file comments!!
  476.  This option allows you to add and or
  477.  update the comment records assocaited
  478.  with each file in the compressed file.
  479.  
  480. *t  !!test compressed!!
  481.  This option will test the integrity of
  482.  the compressed file.
  483.  
  484. *u       !!update!!
  485.  Using this option you can specify the
  486.  file(s) you wish to UPDATE in the
  487.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  488.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  489.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  490.  extensions.
  491.  
  492. *v  !!view!!
  493.  This option will allow you to view the
  494.  contents of a file in the compressed
  495.  file.  The LIST.COM program will be used
  496.  to view the file.
  497.  
  498. *z  !!mask!!
  499.  This option allows you to specify a file
  500.  mask to be used when displaying the
  501.  contents of a compressed file.  For
  502.  example if you specify a mask of *.C
  503.  only the files having an extension of C
  504.  will be displayed on the screen.
  505.  
  506. *mcf4 !!delete tagged files!!
  507.  This option will delete all files that
  508.  have been tagged in the file window.
  509.  After all the files are deleted the file
  510.  window will be refreshed.
  511.  
  512. *mf3  !!view file!!
  513.  This option allows you to view the
  514.  highlighted file.
  515.  
  516. *mf4  !!delete file!!
  517.  This option allows you to delete the
  518.  highlighted file.  You will be prompted
  519.  to verify the delete.

  522.  This option will display the highlighted
  523.  file's time,date,and size.

  526.  This option will sort the file list by
  527.  File name, File extension, or File date,
  528.  depending on how you reply to the sort
  529.  prompt. Enter a N, E, or D.

  531. *mf8  !!make sfx files!!
  532.  F8 will make a self extracting file from
  533.  the highlighted file.
  534.  SHIFT-F8 will make self extracting files
  535.  from all tagged files.
  536.  (ONLY ZIP,LZH,PAK, and SDN files are
  537.  currently supported)

  539. *malt-c  !!add/update file comments!!
  540.  This option allows you to add and or update
  541.  file comment records in all tagged
  542.  compressed files. You will be prompted for a
  543.  data file that contains the comment
  544.  record(s) you wish to add.
  545.  
  546. *malt-d  !!show file dates!!
  547.  This option will display the file dates
  548.  in the file list window.  Pressing the
  549.  ALT-S key will change the display to show
  550.  the file sizes.
  551.  
  552. *malt-s  !!show file sizes!!
  553.  This option will display the file sizes
  554.  in the file list window.  Pressing the
  555.  ALT-D key will change the display to show
  556.  the file dates.
  557.  
  558. *malt-v  !!convert one file!!
  559.  This option will convert the highlighted
  560.  archive file from one format archive to
  561.  another format archive. You will be
  562.  asked if you want to delete the original
  563.  archive file after the conversion is
  564.  complete.
  565.  
  566. *mctl-v  !!convert tagged!!
  567.  This option will convert all tagged
  568.  archive file(s) from one format archive
  569.  to another format archive. You will be
  570.  asked if you want to delete the original
  571.  archive file(s) after the conversion is
  572.  complete.
  573.  
  574. *malt-r  !!reread directory!!
  575.  This option will reread the current
  576.  directory and refresh the displayed file
  577.  list.
  578.  
  579. *malt-w  !!write cfg file!!
  580.  This option will write the current SHEZ
  581.  configuration options out to a file
  582.  named SHEZ.CFG.  The file will be written
  583.  to the current disk:\directory.  This file
  584.  will be used by the SHEZCFG program to set
  585.  the default SHEZ program options when you
  586.  configure SHEZ.
  587.  
  588. *malt-z  !!virus check!!

  607.  This option allows you to move the
  608.  highlighted file. You will be prompted
  609.  to enter file destination information.
  610.  The highlighted file will be copied to
  611.  the entered destination and then deleted
  612.  from the current location.
  613.  
  614. *mctl-f6  !!rename file!!
  615.  This option allows you to rename the
  616.  highlighted file. You will be prompted
  617.  to enter new filename information.
  618.  You must at least enter a filename and
  619.  extension in the TO: field.
  620.  
  621. *msfx !!copy,move,delete,rename tagged files!!
  622.  This option will copy,move,delete, or
  623.  rename all files that have been tagged in
  624.  the file window. After all the files are
  625.  operated on, the file window will be
  626.  refreshed.
  627.  
  628. *print !!help for print!!
  629.  This option will print the currently
  630.  highlighted file.  If you are working
  631.  with an ARC,ZOO,LZH or PAK file output
  632.  will always go to the DOS PRN device.
  633.  
  634. *nomatch  !!no matching file found!!
  635.  No matching files where found in the directory that is displayed
  636.  in the information window.  Pressing ESC will exit SHEZ, pressing
  637.  F2 will allow you to create a compressed file, and pressing
  638.  F3 allows you to specify a new DISK:\DIRECTORY to look at.
  639.
